Android 15 is coming out, and Samsung Galaxy S24 will be able to utilize it next year, 2025. Discover more about update delays and new features to expect.
Google has released Android 15 for its Pixel devices, though that is not expected for the Samsung system, including the next Galaxy S24, until 2025. This delay supports the trend of new Android updates gradually rolling out to non-Google devices.
The Pixel 9 was released in August of 2024 and had Android 14 pre-installed but has Google’s latest Gemini AI highlighted. This puts Google in a better strategic position than Apple which has an iPhone 16 that is branded as an AI-laden phone, yet it has no matching AI.
Samsung has recently updated its performance in providing fast updates to the devices it applies to. But the Android 15 operating system updates won’t be available for the Galaxy S24 series before 2025. Samsung’s next One UI 7 based on Android 15 will come with the Galaxy S25.
Samsung wants to provide longer software support than any other mobile device maker. The new Galaxy S24 series will promise seven years of Android and security updates. Other flagships, including the Galaxy Z foldable, will also benefit from this long support period.
On the other hand, other Android vendors are already planning to release Android 15. Mobile manufacturers such as Vivo, Motorola, and Asus have unveiled their intentions, although some gadgets have been experimenting with Android 15 Beta. Unfortunately, Samsung will not get the first glimpse of the new features.
