Apple Increases Costs of Repairing iPhone 16 Pro’s Battery:

Apple has raised the cost of battery repairs on new iPhone models, 16 Pro and Pro Max respectively. In the current service package, the company charges $119, $20 more compared to the previous price. This change is only applicable for Pro and Pro Max, while iPhone 16 and 16 Plus keep the previous battery service fees.

Battery Replacement Price History:

Apple has done this before to the battery service costs. For the new iPhone 14 model, Apple raised the fee to $99 in 2022 from $69 the previous year, marking a $30 increase. Later on, the same trend was extended to iPad, and MacBook as well as replacement of batteries in the Apple Watches. Apple has been changing its pricing across its gadgets; a concern to users in need of battery replacement.

Warranty and AppleCare Coverage:

In the first year of your iPhone ownership, if the battery depletes, the company will sort you as per its one-year warranty policy. For individuals who are subscribed to AppleCare Plus such battery replacements are free if the battery’s functionality has degraded to below 80% of its capability. Otherwise, the users have to contribute to pay the new service fees.

Exploring Repair Alternatives:

Folks who cannot afford Apple’s prices turn to third-party repair services which are relatively cheaper. Furthermore, Apple has created an official part store where DIY users can acquire original batteries, and thus one can repair their battery on their own. Such carriers could be cheaper and more versatile in comparison with a full-price service offered by Apple.

Conclusion:

With the latest hike, it is now more expensive to get battery replacements for iPhone 16 Pro & Pro Max. However, Apple is still capable of updating the pricing for its devices, and in the meanwhile, users can seek third-party repair or use a DIY kit. Conversely, if your device’s battery began to fade in terms of power, then you may look to these options that help avoid extra fees for recharge or repair.
