Barton Blakeley raises £2.4M for Carbon Recycling Transforming CO2 into Clean Energy and Synthetic Silica with Innovative Technology

Barton Blakeley has secured £2.4M funding for the carbon recycling revolution that uses cost-effective technology to transform industrial CO2 emissions into green energy and synthetic silica.

A UK-based company named Barton Blakeley has secured £2.4M in funding, £1.7M of which has come from the Elbow Beach Capital to grow the groundbreaking carbon utilization business. This revolutionary concept converts industrial CO2 emissions into renewable energy and Synthetic Silica thereby providing industries a cost-efficient and environmentally friendly option for silica production.

Tackling Industrial Emissions:

The firm’s on-site deployable modular systems for industrial factory facilities sequester 1 kilo-tone of CO2 per year per site. This means the company has avoided emissions equivalent to 200 commercial flights from London to Washington DC and saves another 15.5 Kiloton of CO2 by using a less carbon-intensive SiO2 production process.

Synthetic silica, the most common type of silica, powers products like smartphones, cameras, semiconductors, and optical fibers. Its production often incurs high costs and emissions, but Barton Blakeley cuts expenses and emissions with eco-friendly technology that creates clean energy.

Market Development:

Speaking of silica, Barton Blakeley plans on targeting several industries that need it and has already produced $500 billion worth of the material. It also expects to diversify into other markets based on the material’s flexibility of synthetic silica.

At the same time as the funding, Barton Blakeley was joined by Volker Beckers the former Group CEO of RWE Npower in the role of Chair. The commercialization of energy policy and thus Beckers’ expertise in this area of energy will play a pivotal factor in the company’s development as it expands its operations and develops its first industrial partnerships.

Industry Implications:

Carbon capture is now being viewed as a necessary mechanism for controlling industrial emissions, many current strategies and methods have issues with efficiency and costs. Barton Blakeley’s technology removes these barriers since it is cheaper and provides environmental solutions to deliver energy efficiently than conventional systems.
