Berlin-based Nomos Raises €1.9 Million to Transform the Energy Market with its Dynamic Electricity Plans.

The round was headed by Speedinvest. Prominent entrepreneurs also took part in the round, including the founding team of Forto, Henrik Langeland, co-founder and CEO of Enode, Nicolas Benady, co-founder and CEO of Swan, and Eric Quidenus-Wahlforss, co-founder of Soundcloud & Dance.

The money will help Nomos increase the size of its engineering staff and broaden its range of products.

Homeowners are demanding more full-service products, which go beyond hardware installation and optimization and include dynamic power plans to fully capitalize on price swings, as their desire for energy self-sufficiency, smart heating, and charging solutions grows. Nomos meets this demand by offering installers and OEMs a dynamic electricity plan API solution that is simple to implement. Nomos handles all legal and operational complexities as a registered electricity retailer on the European electricity exchange market (EPEX SPOT), allowing its business-to-business (B2B) clients to provide comprehensive energy solutions without incurring upfront expenditures or additional operational effort.

According to recent projections, German energy users would overpay €5 billion in 2024 for opaque rates provided by a small number of oligopolistic incumbents. By providing extremely open and cost-effective energy plans, Nomos hopes to undermine these power structures and empower customers to break free from manipulative pricing schemes. Nomos redistributes power in the energy sector in favor of consumers and the companies that serve them by working with OEMs and installers to help them grow their services, win over more customers and make recurring subscription income.

Stefan Gerbes, co-founder and CEO of Nomos, stated:

“With our easy-to-integrate API solution, we enable leading OEMs and installers of energy assets to become full-service energy providers. By integrating our transparent dynamic energy plans into their goods, manufacturers can offer their consumers significant cost savings through intelligent heating and charging. Additionally, by shifting use into periods when renewable energy is abundant, manufacturers can decarbonize the grid. In the end, we want to enable businesses and customers alike, who want to be in charge rather than just be taxed. Since it involves more than just energy. It has to do with power.”

Germany plans to install 15 million electric cars and 6 million heat pumps by 2030, therefore the market for creative energy solutions is growing quickly. This summer, Nomos became a fully functional, licensed, and regulated electricity retailer. It has since onboarded its first B2B clients and is supplying electricity to families throughout Germany. Although the company’s initial focus is on Germany, it intends to expand its services throughout the continent to fulfill the increasing need for energy supplies that are both affordable and transparent.

Fred Hagenauer, partner at Speedinvest, said:

“Europe has a significant demand for sustainable, transparent, and cost-effective energy solutions. A vital component for the future of domestic energy is provided by Nomos. A few B2B clients were onboarded soon after their debut, demonstrating the technology’s strength. We are eager to accompany Stefan and Nils as they continue to flourish as the green transition advances.”
