GoJoe, an Employee Wellness app, has raised a €2.8 million funding round, aimed at expanding its presence in the digital health and fitness space.
This most recent round of funding, which is being led by Venrex Partners, has follow-on funding from Hellen’s Rock Ventures and backing from Amrock Ventures. Superbet Ventures and angel investors, such as Olympian Alistair Brownlee MBE and football player and coach Michael Carrick, also back GoJoe.
GoJoe, which is available in more than 150 countries, was created on the premise that stronger social ties lead to greater health. The software helps businesses worldwide handle issues and rising expenses related to employee well-being by using gamification and social accountability to inspire and motivate users to attain improved physical, mental, and social health.
GoJoe creates a truly global and inclusive benefit for companies worldwide by breaking down barriers of location, language, technology, and physical ability with its innovative in-app features and functions, which include gamified virtual team-based challenges, a market-first weighted points system across 50 different activities, live tracker maps, and the ability to train virtually alongside celebrities and professional athletes. GoJoe also offers health insurance and employee assistance programs from a single central location.

Will Turner, co-founder of GoJoe, stated:
“It’s really exciting to welcome investment from leading firms who have helped scale some remarkable businesses and build household brands. We have shown in recent years the enormous impact that a social product such as ours can have on people and the organizations they work for. We welcome Redrice Ventures, Venrex Partners, and Amrock Ventures to join us on this next exciting adventure. This investment provides a significant potential for GoJoe. The investment enables GoJoe to expand its reach in assisting businesses with the health and fitness difficulties they confront in the modern workplace, in addition to increasing its resources to support its growth.”
Venrex Venture Investor Alistair Russell:
“We’re thrilled to be involved with GoJoe at the intersection of the sports and consumer sectors. We’re especially eager to apply the knowledge we’ve gained from funding other prosperous consumer and sports-related firms, such as Ellipse Data and Revolut. Many of the traits of the most prosperous founders Venrex has worked with are present in the team.”
The health benefits of GoJoe’s product have been evident, particularly for those who had not been very active before. Over 61% of employees at specific enterprise clients have reported significant improvements in their physical, mental, and social health. These trends are particularly noticeable in the cohorts that are sedentary or only moderately active, with GoJoe users sometimes increasing their activity levels by 800%.
GoJoe is currently collaborating with top health insurers to measure the impact of its product on lower incidences, claims, and premiums. It is also integrating with Human Capital Management systems to measure the impact of reduced absences due to improved mental and physical health. GoJoe addresses the evolving physical and mental health needs of global, dispersed, and diverse workforces.
