Google rolled out Android 15, which contains features such as theft protection, Instagram photo taking at low light, and using Pixel’s cameras underwater.

Android 15 Highlights:

Android 15 by Google brings an innovative feature called private space to effectively hide the apps behind another PIN or any biometric credentials familiar to users of iOS 18. There’s also upgraded built-in theft protection, which mandates two forms of identification for removing the SIM card or deactivating Find My Device. In case of multiple wrong key-in passwords, the phone system locks it. Folding and tablets get a boost with Android 15, adding a taskbar that gives pinned apps and app pairs for working in split-screen mode. Moreover, new features include saved passkeys single-tap login, and satellite messaging without a network.

October Pixel Drop Additions:

Pixel dropping makes low-light Instagram photography better from October, available for Pixel 6 and above (Pixel A series excluded). Pixel 8 series devices will have improved noise cancellation called Audio Magic Eraser that enables users to increase or decrease the volume of a particular sound in a video. Security also receives upgrades with protective features, covering theft with artificial intelligence that locks the phone if grabbed. Most Pixel 6 devices and all newer ones receive widget suggestions, weather app changes, European pollen count integration, and Pixel Call Screening for the UK and Japan. The Pixel 9 series also has a waterproof case, which lets users take underwater photographs and improves the representation of colors while shooting.

Ecosystem Updates:

The Pixel Buds Pro and other Pixel Buds reveal a no-phone way of talking to Gemini. Home controls and photo frame customization are incorporated into the Pixel tablet through screensavers. The option of transferring media between Pixel devices and Pixel tablets will be opened shortly. Pixel watches now have emoji email reactions and a new Contacts app for quick access to favorite contacts.
