Health-tech startup, Oladoc, has raised $1.8 million in a pre-Series A round!

Oladoc, a health-tech startup, has raised $1.8 million in a pre-Series A round, bringing its total funding to $3 million.

Oladoc is a popular doctor booking company that connects patients with doctors for video consultation sessions. On the app, the health-tech startup has also added lab test booking.

The majority of people do not have access to qualified doctors, and the problem became even worse during the pandemic when access to doctors was further limited owing to lockdowns. The pandemic also presented a chance for health tech businesses to scale, with healthcare app adoption increasing during the crisis.

Oladoc would face stiff competition due to increased digital use of healthcare apps during the pandemic and the multi-million dollar rounds raised. “As far as growth is concerned, the most essential thing is execution,” Zuberi said when asked how it expects to compete with other businesses. Many others have similar ideas, but whoever executes them better will gain a larger market share.”

Specifically, Oladoc claims to have a strong position in the doctor appointment booking vertical, which it intends to strengthen. “Since receiving investment, we’ve been attempting to solidify our position in the appointment booking market.” “We’re also keeping an eye on new verticals that we can enter,” Zuberi added.

Oladoc also intends to hire seasoned C-level executives to help the company scale more quickly. It claims to have a network of over 8,000 bookable doctors, has serviced over 15 million people in the last three years across 10 cities in Pakistan, and has experienced explosive growth in the last year.

‘We are excited to work with oladoc on their journey to bring great healthcare to everyone in Pakistan,” says Rabeel Warraich, the founder and CEO of Sarmayacar. “We are excited to collaborate with the founders to help oladoc reach its full market potential.”
