TUM and SAP: Taking partnership to a new level The Technical University of Munich (TUM) and SAP are now one step further. Today they have opened the hi-tech research center in the Garching campus. The funding has been extended to 100 million euros, and its purpose is to promote this center as a hub of innovation and cutting-edge technology.
TUM and SAP marked Wednesday as the official opening of the newest research center, the joint project between two parties. On the digitalization of processes used by large-scale or industrial enterprises, TUM has a connection with SAP. It was founded in 2003 and has always maintained the niche of combining academic delivery and business acumen. This new center is the broadest such partnership in Germany, marking a new level of partnership between the two parties. It tells about the important milestone in their cooperation.
Markus Blume, the Science Minister of Bavaria, has spelled out the importance of this cooperation. He described it as a pioneering research approach that will foster development in Bavaria and across the European state.
TUM’s President Prof. Thomas F. Hofmann said positively on the matter stating that he would keenly work on enhancing the cooperation with SAP. Regarding the center that he spearheaded, he often described its functionaries as being in charge of turning concepts into products that can be sold.
