Ubitium closes $3.7M to develop Embedded AI Hardware with a universal RISC-V processor that integrates CPUs, GPUs, and dedicated cores for consumer devices.

A Change in Focus on Processor Technology:

Semiconductor startup firm Ubitium has secured $3.7M in seed funding to build its revolutionary Ubitium Universal RISC-V Processor. Runa Capital, Inflection, and KBC Focus Fund are participating in this effort; the Prototypes and development kits presented should be followed by commercial chips no later than 2026.

Demystification of Embedded AI Hardware Systems:

The strategy unifies CPUs, GPUs, and other processors into a single system, easing hardware implementation in edge devices while bringing AI capacity at a fraction of today’s price. Addressing the audience, CEO Hyun Shin Cho referred to it as a revolution known as a ‘paradigm shift’ in the $500B processor market.

Key Features and Applications:

Workload Agnostic: Does not tackle specific tasks that require separate cores of calculation.

Scalable Design: This is compatible with everything from an embedded system to high-end machines.

Runa Capital and KBC Focus Fund investors appreciated the processor’s flexibility and further possibilities regarding the alteration of the perception of the hardware and software connection. Further, RISC-V International’s Calista Redmond described it as a success of openly available RISC-V architecture.

Ubitium aims to make networked, self-aware devices a ‘normal’ way of thinking. Moreover, the company is transforming the complex computing world by fully transitioning to its RISC-V computing architecture powered by artificial intelligence.
