Learn how Meta is poaching big stars such as Awkwafina, Judi Dench, and Keegan-Michael Key for the role of their AI companions before the Meta Connect event this September.
Meta is grabbing the public’s attention, hiring Hollywood personalities to play voice roles for AI chatbots. Hence, the Met Connect event is now a race to complete such agreements, and the company wants to introduce its new AI voices in September.
It is the Meta’s turn to bring artificial intelligence revolution this time backed up by celebrities.
Meta has reached out to such talents as Dame Judi Dench, Keegan-Michael Key, and Awkwafina. The said influencers or actors may soon perform the voice-over for Meta’s AI, MetaAI. The company is in talks to negotiate the best talent agencies based in Hollywood to sign on these voices and it is willing to part with possibly millions of dollars for these voices.
It is said that the contracts with these celebrities are renewable; though they are such for a limited period. Once signed, their voices become the voice of Meta for Facebook, Instagram, and even Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses. Thus, having this integration, ensures that the Meta’s AI assistant is provided wherever Meta AI is active.
Talking head celebrities are not new to the evolution of AI. P2P payments have been around for a while, Waze has been using them for a while now, and Meta even had something similar in the past. Nevertheless, those implementations were considered luxury items. This new approach’s distinctive feature is the improvement in generative AI, where the system can make the voice realistic.
If Meta does pull it through, users will soon hear Awkwafina walking them through tasks through their brew or get an advisory from Judi Dench through smart glasses. This could revolutionize the existence of AI and the way people communicate with it making it more friendly.
Meta is going big to secure famous personalities for their AI companion. While the company is gathering for the Meta Connect event, such actors and supervisors’ integration could be a landmark in AI progress.
