Apple states that the iPhone 16 has a RAM of 8GB. Find out how this upgrade can be beneficial to both Apple Intelligence and high-end gaming.
Apple has confirmed that the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro Max both feature 8GB of RAM. Johny Srouji, Apple’s VP of hardware technology, highlighted that this increase in RAM is necessary to support the new Apple Intelligence features.
iPhone 16 has new features; therefore, it needed to incorporate more memory into the new models. Srouji further said that with regards to the upgrade of RAM to 8GB, this was due to the necessity of greater performance. The added memory does not only help with the Apple Intelligence but also with the high intensive gaming requirements, making the iPhone 16 a true Superphone for AI and Games.
Apple Intelligence, set to launch with iOS 18, relies heavily on improvements in the phone’s hardware. However, it will not work with devices that are not compatible like the iPhone 15 which will only come with 6GB of RAM. The feature will be limited only to the iPhone 16 series as well as the iPhone 15 Pro models which are expected to come along with 8GB RAM.
During the recent interview, Srouji also talked about a mixture of things regarding the new iPhones inclusive of the A18 chip. Hence, there is increased RAM capacity as well as the incorporation of the A18 Bionic chip that increases the rate at which videos and images will be processed, and the enhanced thermal system that will not allow the device to heat up during tasks that require the consumption of a lot of power.
The iPhone 16 now has as much as 8GB of RAM which is great for performance as well as the usage from the point of the customers. Adding to this, with Apple Intelligence and new enhancements in gaming this additional memory will help to support multitasking plus create headway for the upcoming features. These hardware enhancements show that Apple is not relenting in the innovation of smartphones.
