Originally from Belgium, Lighthouse is now based in London. As a result, the startup achieved unicorn status after securing $370M in Series C funding, reaching a $2.4B valuation. Notably, the funding round includes KKR, Spectrum Equity, F-Prime Capital, and other major investors, making it one of the largest travel tech investments this year.
Launched in 2012 as OTA Insight, Lighthouse offers Artificial Intelligence that revolutionizes hotels. Moreover, its online platform analyzes 400 terabytes of daily travel data, enabling real-time pricing, booking, and revenue control. Lighthouse has been serving customers across more than 185 countries by enabling 70,000+ hospitality businesses to run their operations more efficiently and increase their revenues.
Lighthouse will allocate a portion of the funds to developing its Artificial Intelligence, hiring more personnel, and supporting growth activities. Transparent and Kriya RevGen acquired in Aug 2021, and Stardekk in November 2021 have enriched its services that integrate short-term rental and hotel data.
Competitors are STR and Amadeus Hospitality among others, however, Lighthouse is backed by AI and has global recognition. Developments such as these assist hoteliers and rental operators in finding their way in the $15 billion hospitality technology market.
“We are just getting started,” the CEO of Riant, Sean Fitzpatrick adds to this. Lighthouse plans on growing, advancing, and changing the utilization of hospitality data to another level with the backing of KKR.
This achievement places Lighthouse among Europe’s emerging tech unicorns – companies that can significantly contribute to the development of the industry on the Old Continent.
