Kittl, Canva and Adobe’s European rival, has recently secured roughly €10.8 million for its design platform. The Berlin-based team now intends to expand its offering and assist additional creatives in easily creating the designs they desire.
Left Lane Capital and Speedinvest both contributed to the €10.8 million raised in a Series A round, which was led by Left Lane Capital.
Des Traynor, the co-founder of Intercom, Shaan Puri, a former CEO of Bebo, and the heads of the product teams at Calm, Amazon, and Instagram all invested as angel investors in the round.
The Kittl design platform, which was created with creators in mind and was founded in 2020 by Nicolas Heymann and Tobias Saul, enables users to be as creative as they want without being constrained by technological challenges.
A year after introducing its Kittl platform, the German business, originally known as Heritage Type, has now secured fresh capital and is planning to grow.
All firms must create distinctive branding and standout designs. All of this is necessary to forge an identity, become well-known, and stick out from the crowd. Although there are many design tools available—Canva and Adobe are two notable incumbents—the process isn’t always straightforward or easily accessible.

The young business intends to expand its staff and create tools that will assist consumers in realizing their creative fantasies with the help of these additional finances. The team needed to develop these tools must have a lot of expertise, and the funds will go a long way toward assisting in the formation of that team. According to Heymann
“This is an extremely technologically advanced development, requiring considerable engineering resources. To truly empower people, we’ll be stepping up our current artificial intelligence and machine learning activities.
More than 1 million designs have been made by users since Kittl’s 2022 launch.
Heymann continued: “Without the need for difficult-to-learn tools, Kittl enables users to quickly and easily build goods at a professional level. To open up new options and increase Kittl’s strength, we’ll be constructing additional tools.
Julian Chavez, a user who uses Kittl design to sell goods on Etsy, said: “I cannot stress this enough. The BEST thing I got engaged within 2022 was Kittl, by far. As soon as I started posting designs on Kittl, I began to get followers and notice that my designs were being used as templates by others. Kittl is top-notch.”
