Amsterdam’s Transferz received €6.5 million in funding to provide travelers and travel industry businesses with more reliable and sustainable transportation options.

The Netherlands startup is currently preparing to take off with its goals for international growth.

Traveling to and from the airport is frequently far more difficult than necessary. While there are many ways for travel marketplaces and companies to reserve and book flights, lodging, and rental vehicles, doing so for (private) ground transportation is a different matter.

Existing private transportation options don’t fully serve the market on a B2B basis. Current systems have drawbacks, can’t always ensure quality, and don’t enable smooth booking.

Amsterdam-based Transferz is attempting to alter this. The firm partners with travel agencies to increase peace of mind throughout the travel supply chain, and it has just received €6.5 million from a group of private investors, including family offices and business angels.

Transferz, a 2020 startup that provides a global marketplace for ground transportation, enables quick and simple international pre-booking of airport transfers.

“At Transferz, our focus is on delivering the greatest quality of transportation services to global travel partners while also creating a beneficial influence on the communities and surroundings in which we operate,” says Johan van Vulpen, CEO of Transferz.

The TravelTech platform provides automated solutions for booking any kind of transportation from and to more than 750 airports, sea ports, train stations, and eventually, point-to-point locations worldwide.

The technology offers a portal solution for travel agencies and connects quickly via APIs into the booking cycle of travel companies.

To guarantee a dependable and sustainable solution, Transferz has also established a network of local private transfer service providers delivering electric, private, and luxurious transfers. The company also offers environmentally sustainable choices, like electric transfers, and pays drivers fairly.

In the future, the business plans to diversify into additional forms of ground transportation, including parking, public transportation, and possibly rental cars, offering travel brands a full-service mobility solution at Just arm’s length.

According to Johan van Vulpen, “We began by offering private transfer services of the highest caliber, supported by a tech-driven solution. This additional round of funding will enable us to increase our technological investments and broaden our product offerings on the Transferz technology platform, adding more ground transportation choices on top of private transfers.”

He went on to say, “This enables both our travel partners and their clients to benefit from a transportation solution that is genuinely dependable, automated, and environmentally friendly.

With this fresh funding, the platform’s reach and influence will be further increased. Some of the major international travel companies currently use it for both leisure and business travel.

“We feel that Transferz has the potential to be a game-changer in the pre-booked ground transportation market, not just in terms of its technology and platform, but also in its dedication to sustainability,” says Jan Kees de Jager, one of the main investors.

He continued, “The essential element missing from the present travel industry is a perfect technology-driven process that offers a great experience for travelers. We are eager to support Transferz in realizing its full potential and are thrilled to be a part of this adventure.”
