London-based Placed App, a GenZ-focused recruitment platform, recently announced the terms of a £4 million funding round.
Two non-executive directors will join the startup’s board of directors as a result of the £4 million round, which is being co-led by Praetura Ventures and Blackfinch Ventures and includes Social Chain co-founder Dominic McGregor, an operational partner with Praetura Ventures, and Blackfinch partner Bill Boorman.
Placed App encourages you to picture getting the job of your dreams by doing tests and not worrying too much about interviews.
There has been much discussion regarding the Great Resignation, which resulted in 210,000 job losses in the UK’s service sector, and the possibility of younger, more technologically adept job applicants.
With the help of its technologies, Placed App provides tailored matchmaking that instantly matches people with suitable jobs. The company lists PizzaExpress, O2, Sky, Lidl, and Greene King among its early-stage clients.
Martin Robinson, an angel investor, the current chair of Burger King UK, and the hotel operator Travelodge are a few of Placed App’s earliest backers.
The startup’s original CEO, Jennifer Johannson, now serves as a mentor for Virgin’s StartUp program. Johnston stated: “The staffing shortage seriously hampers the UK economy’s expansion in the service industry.
“We at Placed are immensely happy to be at the forefront of fostering innovation to serve these sectors, and over the past 18 months, we have experienced tremendous demand for our products and services.
“We are thrilled to welcome Blackfinch Ventures and Praetura Ventures to the following stage of our journey. Their assistance will enable us to develop new features for our products and fuel our further expansion, which includes our aspirations to increase our headcount in the upcoming year.
Blackfinch’s Reuben Wilcock, head of initiatives, continued: “The founder of Placed, which has a solid track record of growth and business customer sign-ups, successfully weathered the devastating effects of the pandemic on the retail and hotel industries.
“We are sure that the firm has the potential to become the top recruitment platform in the UK’s retail and hospitality industries because the company’s product is attractively designed and highly valued by its clients.
