The London-based seed fund Pact has launched its maiden venture with a sizable £30 million, backed by Anne Hathaway. The new fund is the first of its kind in the UK to be created by three female partners, claim its three female founders, Tong Gu, Reem Mobassaleh Wyndham, and Monik Pham.

“Our commitment to enhancing the future is the foundation of our thesis. Within the international markets we’ve invested in throughout our careers, these regions are rife with business potential, according to founding partner Tong Gu. “Based on our knowledge of the early-stage founder journey and our experiences with it, we are introducing a dedicated vehicle. With our portfolio, we wish to establish long-term agreements and assist them in changing the world.

It’s easy to focus on the “now” and bemoan the layoffs while an economic slump is right in front of us, but history has shown that some of the greatest businesses in history have been formed during these times. Likewise, it’s encouraging to see that there is still room on the pitch for first-time-out funds to try their luck, especially with seasoned players like Index Ventures gathering significant sums of money to assist early-stage firms. especially those started by women and concentrating on issues that are extremely significant to younger or newer generations.

Tong Gu was a former founder of ADV and an investor before to founding Pact. She served as the COO and co-founder of Qisense, a data analytics firm in Shanghai that enables independent brand owners to participate in the economy. She assisted in the company’s growth to 40 employees before it was sold.

Reem Mobassaleh Wyndham previously served as Vice President, Technology for Mubadala in Abu Dhabi and was a financial inclusion investor for ADV. She was a previous founder of the upscale company R.Y.M. Jewelry, which was established in Dubai.

Operator and businessman Monik Pham founded several social enterprises in India and Africa and was a member of the founding team of the early-stage firm Fuel Ventures.

Anne Hathaway, who needs no introduction, Campden Hill Capital, Jeff Dean, the head of AI at Google, Yeming Wang, Fahd Beg, the COO of Naspers, Keith Teare, the founding shareholder of TechCrunch, Todd Ruppert, the former CEO of T. Rowe Price Global, and Tilo Bonow, the CEO of PIABO are among the LPs of Pact.

Ronny Shibley, a co-founder of Gorillas, and Pact led the investment round in Growth Kitchen, a firm with offices in London.

“Where we can offer value, we invest. We can give our founders the intellectual, social, and financial capital they need to increase their worldwide reach and impact thanks to our broad expertise across 12 nations, says Mobassaleh Wyndham.
